Our Guest Cristel from the UK wrote our first Tripadvisor review on October 27, 2005:
This is a gem of a place where an old 19th century town house has been exquisitely decorated by the owners and made into 3 suites (one on each floor) adjoining their own home. Although each suite has its own well equipped and provisioned kitchen which includes espresso maker, multifunction oven, hob as well as complementary drinks, fruit and chocolate; breakfast is included and served either in high style in the living part of your suite or downstairs in the elegant dining area over looking the peaceful garden. There is a back entrance so parking is secure and it is SO quiet unlike hotels in the center of town where the bin men and street noise wakes you up.
Our hosts were happy to book a restaurant for us and drop us there via a mini tour of the harbor area and we returned home to find petit fours and a chilled bottle of champagne awaiting us.
The suites are all in different styles and one is definitely ‘bridal’. The bathrooms are all finished to a high standard and there are plenty of Moulton Brown toiletries as well as candles to relax with.
At 425 euros a night this is definitely one for a luxury treat but if you compare it with the service and similarly priced executive rooms at a recently updated local 5* hotel there is no competition. Spoil yourself and you will not be disappointed.

In those days Tripadvisor was still in its infancy and as a consequence of this review we were many months number 1 of their ranking because there weren’t many reviews yet of hotels in The Hague
